The God of Fire & The Goddess of Water are artworks that I inspired by the Ly Dynasty of Vietnamese history and culture. Indeed, my inspiration comes from the symbol of the lotus, the Ly's dragon, and the traditional dress of Vietnamese women. Moreover, I use two elements - fire and water to create my characters.
Thuy Than is The Goddess of water. Indeed, I want to have a concept of a strong woman who is a warrior; moreover, she can control water magically. I combine some elements of Vietnamese symbols like the shape of the lotus petal and the wave pattern of the Vietnamese Nhat Binh traditional dress. Additionally, I left her to walk with her barefoot to create a liberty feeling for my character.
Hoa Than is The God Of Fire. Indeed, I use fire to create a powerful man who is a warrior, and he can miraculously make a blazing ball. Thus, I use the iconic Ly's dragon and lotus to create his characteristic tattoo, warrior costume, and others. Last but not least, Hoa Than is a god of power and independence, so he fights with his barefoot willingly.
